2.0 'ZENSE' Fibre Optic Linear Heat Detection
2.1 The system offered is to be a line type detection system with operation based upon Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) technology.
2.2 System is to use standard telecoms grade non metallic or Stainless steel tube option multi-mode optical fibre probe - 50m or 62.5m core diameter AND an associated controller - capable of monitoring 4kms of fibre per channel in a single or double ended configuration - as standard.
2.3 There are to be no restrictions imposed by the system software relating to any limit of the number of zones that can be configured along a single length of fibre.
2.4 Controller is to be available for supply in a range of presentations which allows its installation within an existing Central IP65/IP66 panel, with 19" rack mounting (2U design) kit or as self-contained unit complete with 15" LCD display, LED indication of supply healthy, supply fault, system fault, fibre fault conditions and with a maximum 64 integral alarm relay outputs.
2.5 An integral ethernet enabled dual core 160GB hard disk processor and pre-loaded software is to be included within the controller providing networking and open communication capabilities - as standard.
2.6 System is to provide for 1,2 or 4 channel operation, and able to specify 1m spatial and sampling resolution, with +/- 0.75C temperature accuracy and a 7 seconds measurement time of a 4kms length of fibre. 140DB optical budget and MTBF of 9.0 years.
2.7 An option is to be included for a multi-language enhanced graphical display of the temperature data - which will also allow summary temperature and zone alarm information to be displayed, recorded and replayed via the data control facility provided.
2.8 System to be FM Approved and to conform with Laser Safety: Class 1 to IEC 60825-1 EMC:2004/108/EC. EN 61000 3-2, 3-3; 4-2, 4-3, 4-4, 4-5, 4-6, 4-8, 4-11; 6-2, 6-4; CE Marked and Intrinsic Safety to ANSI/ISA - TR12.21.01- 2004.
