Linear Temperature Sensing

MOST Industrial and Commercial fires are NOT "flash fires". As their origins are undetected overheat conditions which are allowed to progress to combustion, it is pre-combustion detection i.e.Fire Prevention that is required. This is a feature of the Proline family of linear temperature detection systems.

Proline provides:

a) “Point of risk” monitoring -  by installation of the temperature sensing cable close to the potential source of heat rise therefore not reliant upon favourable airflows for rapid response.

b) “Area” protection - where changes in temperature can be detected at ANY and ALL points along the sensor cable length installed horizontally at roof /ceiling height.Increased protection (further improved system sensitivity) can be provided by including vertical runs into a zone length installation. For example - using building concrete or steel support beams.

International certification authorities recommend maximum spacing between sensing cable runs for “area” detection based on response times which are superior to point type detection devices (including sprinkler system frangible bulbs).

Continuous un-interrupted operation without false alarms and without high maintenance requirements/costs are features within dirty, dusty, damp, corrosive, electrically hazardous environments and within areas of limited access and surveillance.

Integration with and "address" by customer existing or proposed Central fire alarm or building Management control panels is simply achieved by a direct loop connection or via dedicated interface units supplied by Proline - designed with multiple signalling and monitoring features.
