Interface Unit - ZI-03
The ZI-03 interface monitors up to 5000 metres / 16,400 ft of Proline TH digital linear temperature sensing cable plus 50 ohms (maximum resistance) of interconnecting cable - where required. Its development considers the potential for multiple extinguishing, ventilation, smoke extraction zones of operation within a single detection zone covered by the 5000m of Proline "TH" sensor cable and the preference for restricting extinguishing etc to the area in alarm only - thereby reducing costs associated with gaseous discharge and/or clean up of water based extinguishants.
A site programming facility allows sections of the sensor cable to be dedicated to 1 of up to 50 alarm outputs - allowing the customer control panel to identify which associated zone/s of extinguishing etc should be operated. Minimum "sub-zone" length of sensor cable which may be programmed is 100 metres.
For areas where no dedicated alarm signal is required - as in transfer points from 1 floor or room to another - this length of sensor cable can be programmed as a "dead" zone - i.e. not dedicated to any specific alarm output.

The ZI-03 is supplied - as standard - with common ALARM and common FAULT outputs, RS232 serial link and 10 (ten) programmable alarm outputs. Where more are required, up to 4 x ZI-03R extension units may be added - each of which provides 10 additional programmable outputs. See figure 4 below for connection information.
